It is with great pride and pleasure that we announce our Ongoing Professional Development (OPD) program for 2012.

We had a great year in 2011 and offer thanks to all those celebrants who completed OPD with us.  As our past attendees are aware, we collected feedback from every participant that attended a course with us.  All of your wonderful feedback has been analysed and used to form our 2012 program.

This year we have a very varied offering of courses designed in response to feedback from celebrants and celebrant associations. Our OPD selection is suitable for ALL celebrants, whether new, experienced or religious.

Due to popular demand, two of our 2011 topics are being offered again in 2012.  These are: OPD20-2012 Common Errors and Advice from BDM and OPD21-2012 Celebrant Service Agreement.

To address the overwhelming demand from celebrants for information about marrying people from overseas, we have designed a course specifically to address this topic.

Once again you can expect to receive a comprehensive workbook for each OPD course you complete with AssentTECS.  We will continue to offer training to small groups as our focus continues to be on quality, not quantity.  DON'T BE DISAPPOINTED, register EARLY in 2012 to avoid missing preferred class.

Also, we will continue with the tradition of issuing a Certificate of Completion to all celebrants that complete their OPD with us.

I thank you for your ongoing support of the AssentTECS OPD programs.  Many celebrants have been with us since 2003 when we first commenced delivery of OPD.  Our wonderful team of trainers look forward to meeting up with colleagues from past years, and also look forward to meeting many new celebrants.

OPD Registration Year

Please Note: the OPD registration year is from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2012.  Each registration year you are required to complete a minimum 5 hours ongoing professional development, this year comprising 1 hour compulsory topic and 4 hours of electives topics.

Face to face sessions generally end in the 2nd week in December and all Distance Education Workbooks are required to be returned to us by the 30 November to allow for marking and feedback by our Trainers. Please don't leave it until December to register for OPD!

Fees

Face to Face course fee is $195.00

Distance Education fee is $160.00 (hard copy/posted) or $140.00 (soft copy/emailed)

Discounts: AssentTECS has agreements with a number of Celebrant Associations.  If you are a member of an Association listed below, please include this information on your registration form, including your membership number and you will be eligible for a discounted member's price of $155.00 for Face to Face courses only.

  • AFCC - In 2012 AssentTECS is the preferred provider of OPD training for the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants.
  • AMC -  In 2012 AssentTECS is the preferred provider of OPD training for the Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc.

How to Enrol

Enrolments can be made online through our website or by faxing or posting a completed enrolment form to our office.
Enrolments MUST be made prior to attendance.
Due to catering and venue hire, enrolments close 5 working days before the class date.
Arriving and/or paying on the day will not be accepted.
Faxing or posting your enrolment does not guarantee your place in a class.  Confirmation of your enrolment will be sent via email (our preferred option) or post, once your enrolment form is processed.

Step 3 - make payment by cheque, **EFT or credit card (over the phone)
** Please use your surname and OPD location as a reference on your bank transfer and email bank transfer receipt to opd@assenttecs.com.au.
